The Department of Textiles and Clothing is established within the College of Science
1976
The Department begins collecting traditional clothing and accessories.
1991
MA program is established.
1993
The Chinese Textiles and Clothing Culture Center is established. Its mission includes teaching, research, holding exhibits, promoting education, and collecting traditional Chinese dress and accessories.
1994
The College of Human Ecology is established. Departments include Applied Science of Living, Food and Nutritional Science, and Textiles and Clothing.
The Department of Textiles and Clothing begins offering three modules: Textile Design, Fashion Design, and Textile and Fashion Marketing.
1997
The Department of Textiles and Clothing establishes its in-service Master’s program.
1999
The Department of Textiles and Clothing has been a member of the International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI), an organization of outstanding educational enterprises worldwide, aimed at promoting global perspective education, research, exchange, and collaboration.
2000
The Department of Textiles and Clothing establishes its in-service Master’s program.
2002
The Graduate Institute of Museum Studies is established.
2006
The Accessories Design and Retailing Department amalgamates with the Department of Textiles and Fashion.
2012
M.A. in Brand and Fashion Management launches, taught exclusively in English.
2017
The College of Fashion and Textiles is established, bringing together the Department of Textiles and Fashion, Graduate Institute of Museum Studies, the MA Program in Brand and Fashion Management, and the Chinese Textiles and Clothing Culture Center.

The College strives to become a global leader in fashion education and cradle to develop local Taiwanese talent to compete in the global fashion industry.
